Buying office furniture can be extremely
expensive, or can be an opportunity to buy great quality
products at a great price. Our Systems News Members are
committed to providing excellent selection and tremendous
value, without paying full retail prices found at
traditional furniture dealers.
New office furniture
is usually more expensive, however many of our dealers
carry great quality brands at surprisingly reasonable
prices. For example, buyers can find beautiful imported
wood desk sets at excellent prices, often in stock for
immediate delivery. You get all-new product, and can
choose the finish, colors, and exact sizes. Lead time for
some brands, especially workstations, can be 6-8 weeks.
Refurbished office furniture
offers many of the benefits of new furniture, at a lower
cost and a faster turnaround time. The most popular
products are refurbished cubicles from Steelcase and
Herman Miller, which are completely remanufactured with
all new fabric, new work surfaces, and paint.
Used office furniture
pricing depends on what is available and what you find
acceptable. At lower price points, you can find basic
workstations that are older, have some noticeable wear and
tear, and might be from a lower quality manufacturer.
Most dealers however, specialize in high quality used
furniture. These will be top name-brands (Steelcase,
Herman Miller, Knoll, Teknion, etc), and will generally be
in very good condition. Some dealers will also clean,
re-upholster or replace components to make the used
cubicles look "almost new". The challenge in buying used
office furniture is finding products in the sizes, colors,
and quantities you need. Like buying a used car, you must
accept the brand, color and configuration that is
available. Hopefully the wide selection of used furniture
on the
Systems News
site will provide you with more than enough products to
choose from! (click
